When Did You Last Change Your Hot Tub Water?
Hot tub water should be changed every three to six months, depending on how frequently the spa is used and the number of bathers.
Over time, even perfectly maintained water reaches a point where total dissolved solids (TDS) accumulate to a level where chemicals can no longer work effectively.
At that point, no amount of sanitiser or balancing chemicals will bring the water back to a safe and comfortable standard — it simply needs to be replaced.

Why Not Just Do It Yourself?
A water change sounds straightforward — drain, refill, add chemicals. Many owners attempt it themselves but encounter problems: the water goes cloudy within days, it foams excessively, or it simply doesn’t feel right. The most common reason for this is that a critical step has been missed.
Before any hot tub is drained, the pipework should be flushed with a chemical agent specifically designed to remove biofilm — the invisible layer of dead skin cells, oils and product residue that builds up inside every hot tub’s plumbing. If this step is skipped, the biofilm remains in the pipes and contaminates the fresh water immediately when the spa is refilled.
Our water change service includes this bioflush as standard, along with a proper jet wash and a precise water chemistry balance. The result is genuinely clean water that stays that way for longer.

How Often Should Water Be Changed?
As a general guide:
Light use (1–2 bathers, occasional) — change every 4–6 months
Moderate use (2–3 bathers, weekly) — change every 3–4 months
Heavy use (multiple bathers, daily) — change every 2–3 months
