Getting Your New Hot Tub off to the Right Start
Buying a hot tub is an exciting purchase — but how it is installed will have a significant bearing on how well it performs and how long it lasts. Poor siting, an inadequate base, incorrect electrical connections or a badly managed first fill can all cause problems that are difficult and expensive to rectify later.
Hot Tub Tech provides professional hot tub installation [post delivery] and commissioning services across Farnham, Guildford and the wider Surrey area, ensuring your new spa is set up correctly, safely and ready to enjoy from day one.
What Our Installation Service Covers
Pre-Installation Guidance
Before your hot tub arrives, we can advise on the ideal location within your garden or outdoor space, the base requirements (concrete pad, paving slabs, reinforced decking), and the electrical supply requirements.
Getting these right before delivery avoids costly problems on the day.
Positioning and Levelling
We ensure your hot tub is correctly positioned and level before the first fill. Even a slight slope can affect water level sensors, pump priming and the fit of the cover.
Electrical Checks
Hot tubs require a dedicated electrical supply, typically a 32A or 63A RCD-protected circuit. We work in liaison with qualified electricians where required and will check the supply for correct specification before commissioning the spa.
Note: the electrical connection itself must be carried out by a qualified Part P electrician — we can recommend local contractors if needed.
First Fill and Commissioning
We carry out the first fill, prime all pumps, and run through the full commissioning checklist — jets, heater, ozone system, lighting, controls and cover lift mechanism — to confirm everything is functioning correctly before we leave.
Initial Water Chemistry Setup
Getting the water chemistry right from the very first fill prevents scale, corrosion and water clarity problems in the weeks that follow. We set pH, total alkalinity, sanitiser and calcium hardness correctly from the outset.
Owner Handover
Once the spa is commissioned and ready to use, we will walk you through everything you need to know — how to operate the controls, how to maintain the water chemistry, when to clean the filters, and what to do if something doesn’t look right.
We want you to feel confident with your spa from day one.
Buying a Second-Hand Hot Tub?
Second-hand hot tubs represent excellent value — but they also carry risk. Many are sold with undisclosed faults, outdated electrical connections, or plumbing issues that only become apparent once the spa is refilled. Hot Tub Tech offers a pre-purchase inspection service, where we assess the spa in situ before you commit to buying it, and provide an honest written report on its condition.
We can then handle the full collection, delivery, installation and commissioning once you have made your decision.
